PLAYING WITH PURPOSE
Adding WEDNESDAYs at 10:30am through April 30th and June 4th-June 25th
AGES 0-5 with caregiver, inside the Great Ponds Gallery
Playing with Purpose is designed to help parents/caregivers gain a better understanding of the importance of play and learn how to be active participants in this important work. Play stations are set up to allow for one-on-one time as well as to work on fine and gross motor skills and socialization. During each session parents and/or caregivers are given relevant materials and articles on how to continue to support and build on these concepts at home. Parents/caregivers are then encouraged to use the items shared to “Play with Purpose” with their children.
LEVEL UP AT YOUR LIBRARY (for kids)
- Stop by the Children’s Desk to pick up a necklace and brag tag.
- Keep track of the DAYS you read using the reading log.
- Earn a bead for EVERY DAY you read and EVERY PROGRAM you attend.
- Reading days 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 51 earn you special beads and enter you into a prize drawing.
- Participating in the Summer Reading Program also gets you entered into a statewide raffle for prizes from the Boston Bruins!
- Remember, the more you read, the more chances you get to walk away with great prizes!
Level Up at Your Library, the Massachusetts Statewide Summer Library Program is funded by the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, the Lakeville Public Library, the Friends of the Lakeville Public Library and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
NEW! SUMMER READING BINGO (for teens)
Complete the challenges on the bingo sheet and for every bingo completed earn a scratch ticket, you could win a sweet treat. The scratch tickets then turn into prize entries to win a gift card to An Unlikely Story bookstore, a prize from the Boston Bruins, or a Kindle Fire!

Outside near Center Stage (weather permitting*)

Thursdays at 1:00pm: 4+ years (school-age children welcome)
*will move indoors for inclement weather
Read with Bella on Wednesdays, 4:00-6:00pm
Bella is a very sweet and patient service dog who makes the perfect reading buddy for children who are working on their reading skills or who are a little timid around dogs.
